    weird. that makes one place in the philippines i've been to where you haven't been.
    neither travelled by land from manila to davao?
    we really ought to learn how to drive. =P

    nope, no bicol =( and to think that's where my lolo and lola are from!


    and yes, i'm the only one in our family who hasn't taken the davao-manila bus route =( because i was already in manila then and they all just came to visit. another frustration of mine is puerto galera, which my parents went to when i was a few months old, leaving me with the yaya (hmp!). i was ACROSS puerto galera last summer, about an hour away by speed boat, but we didn't have time to cross =P


    (but i'm also the one in the family who has been to the most places, especially in the visayas hehe. none of them have set foot in bohol, for example).


    yes, yes. have to learn to drive. maybe we can do that when you're here? on a scooter ;-)

Thanks for trying out Lakbayan. :-) You asked in my comments: "oh, is there a way you could design it so that it will save your answers so that you can keep going back and update your 'grade'?" Hmmm, you missed out the link on the results page that let's you update the map. Anyway, here it is: Update your map. You need to bookmark the link and re-bookmark it (from the results page) every time you update. :)

Being Brown... again

In 2002, I wrote an  #essay for one of my Sun.Star columns titled "It Ain't Easy Being Brown" . In March 2016, I suddenly got requests from university students in different parts of the  #Philippines  to interview me about this essay for their class. The essay wasn't online and they had to ask me for a copy, so I have no idea how their teachers thought to assign it as a text. In October 2017, I was contacted by students from yet another school telling me that they had chosen the same essay to make a  #shortfilm  on for a school competition. Again, no idea how they got hold of it. But since my essays are  #autobiographical , it was basically a film based on my life. Sharing it now because it's just so hilarious 😂 especially their portrayal of my parents. It's so amazing what kids can do with the technology these days. It Ain’t Easy Being Brown
