Negros Oriental, Above and Below Water

September 11 and 12, 2006. I'm skipping a couple of trips, dives and melodramatic events in my life to upload this album of my visit to Dumaguete via Lilo-an, Santander, Cebu and my amazing dives in two sanctuaries in Dauin to give you (and me) a glimpse of my future home and lifestyle.

Just a selection of the most interesting things I saw on the trip.

I'm so excited already!

PS my new website header (the one you see above) is a picture from the masaplod norte sanctuary in dauin. super strong currents! was hardly moving even though i was finning like crazy. but perfect visibility. also the turtles up there i cut out from a picture of an anemone that you will see below =)

  6. yup, dauin's definitely an unexpected jewel, an eye-popping hillside of foliose, branching and soft corals. i don't usually like diving the same site twice, but here i wouldn't mind. it was here that i finally got to take sharp pictures of the big fish, because they wouldn't swim away =D and the lighting was perfect.

  9. Oooh! I used to spend my summers walking around in Bais and Dumaguete, and near an organic farm in Talay.=) Is lovely. Wish I could go back there again.

  10. thanks, everyone =) yes, lovely place. i feel like i'm just using school as a grown-up excuse to live near all these pretty fishies hehe. dumaguete, here i come!

  11. now I'm rethinking if i made the right choice of school these days --- knowing that you are going to one where the waters and all beauty in it are literally - JUST THERE!
superb photos you have! you're becoming attuned to their senses and they, to yours -- that's why they're not running away anymore...

  12. oh, ateneo is also a good place to be, if you're in manila =) you won't regret it. you'll see the seasons change, especially from March to May to June--the leaves turning red and falling, the fire trees blooming, and the grass turning suddenly from brown to green. Even UP doesn't have that, and i love UP's cracked pavements more than ateneo's landscaping.
