anyone game for palawan?

this is an official invitation to a tour of Palawan. based on my computations, the food, transpo, fees, and accommodations will be P12k, but this is based on the lowest airfare from cebu, which is P5k max, roundtrip na (roughly the same for MLA-PUERTO).


 


departure from cebu will be april 7, around 10am. return flight, pwede april 15 if you need to go, but i plan to extend until april 19 at the earliest . basta the target sites will be taytay and el nido on the east (4 days) and ugong rock and underground river on the west side (3 days). optional are a basic tour around puetro princesa city (iwahig penal colony, butterfly sanctuary, etc.) and a day trip to narra (estrell waterfalls). and i also plan to go tubbataha.


 


i also plan to go to batanes via la union-vigan-laoag-pagudpud-cagayan, maybe in may, but i'm still researching on the rates.


 


the ideal tour group size for Palawan is six people to maximixe the boat rental, and there are already two of us (me and my father). anyone else interested?

    actually, naisip ko nga this would be the best time to buy a DSLR (with underwater casing) because of all the travel i'm planning to do...hay. i'll just console myself for now with the thought that my Samsung Digimax 430 is lighter, more discreet, and fits better in my small backpack. and that my Pentax K1000 is better at surviving rain, sea spray, drops, and bumpy rides (no batteries!).

    hmmm...ano kaya?

Being Brown... again

In 2002, I wrote an  #essay for one of my Sun.Star columns titled "It Ain't Easy Being Brown" . In March 2016, I suddenly got requests from university students in different parts of the  #Philippines  to interview me about this essay for their class. The essay wasn't online and they had to ask me for a copy, so I have no idea how their teachers thought to assign it as a text. In October 2017, I was contacted by students from yet another school telling me that they had chosen the same essay to make a  #shortfilm  on for a school competition. Again, no idea how they got hold of it. But since my essays are  #autobiographical , it was basically a film based on my life. Sharing it now because it's just so hilarious 😂 especially their portrayal of my parents. It's so amazing what kids can do with the technology these days.
