Naturally Davao
Just some of the "nature" things I love about Davao, all photos taken during my last trip, from August 18 to 29. No pictures of beaches here because the only resort I went to was Eden, at the foot of Mt. Apo, on Papa's birthday. Didn't print a lot of pictures from there, though. Too expensive =P But they have a pool there with a view of the Davao Gulf and the city and the mountain. We swam around 4p.m., just as the fog was settling down. Pictures of the orchids i took at the last minute, just as the agro fair was closing. That's why the lighting is perfect--the sun was really low in the sky by then. Thanks to The Valley, an orchid store in Tacurong(?), that let me take photos of their plants. By that time, they were the only stall that had orchids on display. Yes, I missed the floriculture exhibit and landscaping contest =(
hi! i just love this shot! are you using a dlsr?
ReplyDeleteAwesome! The lighting is grea, the focus on the texture brings the natural beauty of the subject. i wonder what resolution was used to take this picture, because it is a bit subdued. The picture shows that the one who took it (i.e., Jeneen?) has an EYE for beauty.
ReplyDelete.. reminds me of venice! Totally cool. But they say we should stay away from the pigeons because they carry all kinds of viruses. I didn't care. What have you to say about that? :)
ReplyDeleteI always love Ilustre... and pigeons are among the reasons why I love that area.
ReplyDeleteI love this shot!
sceneries from Harry Potter or LOTR...
ReplyDeleteThe wide array of scenery in Davao... na "nahuli" ni Jeneen. Worth the trip home, huh?
thanks! nope, i'm using a totally manual pentax k1000 (which doesn't even have a self-timer!) had to scan the pictures one by one =)
ReplyDeletethanks =) now i get what you're saying about resolution. i took these shots with a manual (film) SLR and then scanned them using 300dpi resolution. that's why they don't look as sharp as they should--because the scanner's a bit dirty hehe
ReplyDeletehay naku! puro last minute nga ito e. didn't really spend time enjoying the scenery. buti na lang may nakuha pa ako. wasted a lot of time at home (puro shopping lang ata ginawa ko e =P). but still, i'm glad i was there. tsaka ha, in fairness, ang ganda ng pool sa eden. it's against my principles, but it was tastefully done. using rocks or marblw instead of tiles would've given a more natural feel, though.
ReplyDeleteGaling! Pursuing phtography is a costly hobby -- I resort to looking for great photos online.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful jeneen!
ReplyDeletegreats photos! i love it all! i have some shots that looks good but after it was scanned, the image wasn't as great as the one on paper....keep it up! nice hobby taking pictures randomly...
ReplyDeleteI think your micro shots of the flowers could improve. In addition, it also helps to select flowers that are alive and blooming. It looks like the heat just killed these flowers.
