River-Rafting in Davao




December 29, 2005.Last November we rode the habal-habal up and down the hills of Samal Island to camp out at the cove in Canibad (photos to be uploaded soon). This Christmas, Papa, Josrique and I took on the rapids (Class 1 to 3) covering 13km of the Davao River in Calinan with my high school classmates Vannie, Christian and Mervin.     wow.. nakakainggit! i went canoeing here in illinois once, but didn't get to take any pictures of it. this one makes me bitter... the pictures show how much fun you guys have!

    used a disposable underwater cam for this (Kodak -P330). for pictures with flash, we used another disposable camera.

    nope, want to go to cdo, too, more for the canopy walk. according to our guides, same lang daw ang class sa rapids, but mas exciting sa davao because the raft is smaller, so you "feel" the excitement more (well...=). actually, the weather also matters. they told us that the "waves" went as high as 6-8 feet last christmas because it was raining the whole day. ours was ok because it rained that morning, so the waves were good, but not too high for first-timers like us.

    Those are nice photos.

    WATER RAFTERS, there is alot of Water rafting activity on Bujjagali Falls, on R. Nile, in Uganda. You can plan a trip to the place. it is great, and am sure you'd have fun.

Turning 29 with my Twin

21 to 23 November 2008. After a horrendous week of coursework deadlines (gave a presentation on the 19th itself, stayed at the library till 5 a.m. that night to finish my chemistry paper due at noon the next day, woke up early on the 20th to proofread my paper, reprint and submit, then practice for another presentation at 1 pm), I finally got to properly celebrate the last year of my 20's on a tour of different villages along the English Jurassic coast (a UNESCO World Heritage site) in the county of Dorset. This year, though, I had the improbable (and ironic) surprise of actually having a classmate who's exactly my age. We found out we had the same birthday because we were groupmates for that presentation we had on our birthday :P So what's the probability of celebrating your birthday with someone exactly your age?
