doctor day for ashley, dentist day for me


ash went on her first visit to the vet yesterday for a general check-up. the very nice dr. gorre (on r. landon st. i recommend him to everyone out there who has pets. very helpful. gave me very good advice on the phone last week although he had never met me) cleaned ashley's ears, gave her orange-colored, yummy de-worming medicine, vaccinated her against five cat diseases, and sprayed her with some anti-flea solution.


except for the de-worming medicine, ash hated every moment of it. bit dr. gorre's hand as he injected the vaccine, tried to scratch his assistant tony's face, and yowled as i had never heard before, not even when i give her baths. in the end, as she shivered from the anti-flea spray, she looked defeated, but nevertheless still proud, keeping warm beside tony as i took her photo.


not only did dr. gorre give me six cans of friskies tuna & mackerel, he also gave me a discount on the bill! we're supposed to come back in a month for booster and ant-rabies shots (finally). oh, and i just noticed this morning, on the patient card, he put ashley's breed as "siamese x" ;-) with her moods, i'd say she DOES have siamese blood.


after we went to ana's to deliver the friskies cans for her caesura and birdy.and what do you know, ash made herself right at home on caesura's favorite couch. so i decided to leave her there the whole afternoon (so she could have a taste of home, too) while i went to the dentist to have my poor molar taken out (it had been mistreated by 8 dentists in 5 years, until finally extraction was the only option left). caesura, of course, also being the only cat-child , was cautious about her overly comfy guest. check out ana's blow-by-blow photos of caesura and ashley trying to work on their friendship ;-)

    sounds like a good treat for you and ashley! my Ryu needs a general check-up like that. perhaps you can share to me contact details of dr. gorre?

Turning 29 with my Twin

21 to 23 November 2008. After a horrendous week of coursework deadlines (gave a presentation on the 19th itself, stayed at the library till 5 a.m. that night to finish my chemistry paper due at noon the next day, woke up early on the 20th to proofread my paper, reprint and submit, then practice for another presentation at 1 pm), I finally got to properly celebrate the last year of my 20's on a tour of different villages along the English Jurassic coast (a UNESCO World Heritage site) in the county of Dorset. This year, though, I had the improbable (and ironic) surprise of actually having a classmate who's exactly my age. We found out we had the same birthday because we were groupmates for that presentation we had on our birthday :P So what's the probability of celebrating your birthday with someone exactly your age?
