See How She's Grown!




Okay, okay, so I'm obsessed. But isn't she ADORABLE?

Photos taken December 15 and 16 at the office =) (i've taken to bringing her up to my desk in the afternoons because our big, gay office cat always eats up her food if i leave it downstairs). Have videos of ashley playing, too, but can't upload videos on Multiply anymore =(

    She's so adorable! I miss my cats. We used to have lots of 'em here. And back in Germany, we had one big fat cat. I miss my kitties... =(

    since saturday night. i've knocked on all the neighbor's gates (our office is in a compound, though not enclosed). there were some sightings of her on saturday and sunday night. one guy even claimed to have kept her in his room on monday. but when i talked to him tuesday, he said, she had escaped. i think he was just trying to be cute :-/ i need all your prayers, everyone. i have not lost hope, as i know God loves ashley, too.

Being Brown... again

In 2002, I wrote an  #essay for one of my Sun.Star columns titled "It Ain't Easy Being Brown" . In March 2016, I suddenly got requests from university students in different parts of the  #Philippines  to interview me about this essay for their class. The essay wasn't online and they had to ask me for a copy, so I have no idea how their teachers thought to assign it as a text. In October 2017, I was contacted by students from yet another school telling me that they had chosen the same essay to make a  #shortfilm  on for a school competition. Again, no idea how they got hold of it. But since my essays are  #autobiographical , it was basically a film based on my life. Sharing it now because it's just so hilarious 😂 especially their portrayal of my parents. It's so amazing what kids can do with the technology these days. It Ain’t Easy Being Brown

Every time I walk down a grocery’s toiletries section, an overly eager, mestiza sales lady blocks my path, wielding the latest whitening product.
