Dahil Sayang ang Make-up

it isn't always you get your face prettified by someone famous like wenwen zaspa. so after the sun.star pictorial , i borrowed my housemate's digital camera and tried to preserve the look (to copy for future occasions). but i guess the (6 hours-old) make-up was done so well that you hardly even see it. yet another excuse to photograph myself =)

the wonder and grace of august (and other updates =)

august has always been a so-so month for me, just something to get us across from rainy july to the brr of september. but THIS august was pretty good. in fact, i believe it deserves an update all its own. so here it is, another of those comprehensive-but-not-too-detailed autobiographies. i'm really indulging this time because i haven't done any updating in my personal journal, either. this is for me as much as for anyone who cares to read.   ======================== August 30, 2005 11pm   DAVAO : business and a bit of pleasure   first weekend of august, i was supposed to go to olango to help out with another NGO, and then join the sportsfest for the church anniversary the next day. i was pretty excited. but oh, no, God had other plans for me. july 31, about 730am, my boss texted me (as he is wont to do at odd hours, with sudden announcements) that we would be going to davao for a partners' meeting with our funder. i found out a few days later that the venue would be at p...

August 27 and 28, 2005. we just had a cake at home on saturday, then the next day, we had lunch at dencios' at the hilltop (which has a view of the city, higher than jack's ridge) after church. not very different from last year's bday . in fact, the fiera's tire burst again (tama ba ang term?), too, this year. but that's another album =) too bad can't upload videos of the birthday and the burst tire anymore =( for family members, i might just send them to you. watch out for the journal entry on this one!

Camotes Group of Islands, Cebu

Image
August 20-21, 2005. Lake Danao is in the town of San Francisco, on the island of Pacijan, one of the four in the Camotes group of Islands in northern Cebu. The lake has a unique grass called soli-soli that the people there weave into mats, hats and bags. The lake pictures are my favorites. The resorts (Mangudlong on the west and Santiago Bay on the east) are also in San Francisco. Will be writing an article or journal entry about the trip so you can get more deatils about how to get there and what i did (it was the perfect vacation =). Also, for the first time i've put my name on the photos and uploaded only low res pix to protect my "creative work" and prevent downloads without my permission. I just thought maybe I should start being more careful against plagiarism. It's a lot of work having to put my name on each one, but i'll see how this works out. More of the island's people here .
