Andalucia Road Trip, Day 1: Arcos de la Frontera, Sierra de Grazalema, Ronda
23 de junio 2009. Free of coursework at last, the traveling twins strike again. This time the plan was to do a road trip through Andalucia's pueblos blancos, the former territory of the Moors in the 1300s, and to do it camping style, which turned out to mean a very different thing in Spain. The first day consisted of cutting across the national parks in the mountains from Arcos dela Frontera, a tiny town with Spain's oldest altar and some saints' skeletons, until Ronda, a city built on top of a gorge. Some highlights from the first day....
wow... a pizza made from fresh mountains :)

ReplyDeleteYou look prettier than ever,Neen...while your twin looks thinner!!! how bad can Spain be when it comes to food,eh? compared to the UK! I think he has been doing too many laps,or is it just that he's homesick:) Both of you look good though- can't wait to see the next trip of the twins...is diving in the Red sea still in the works?
ReplyDeleteat last, a pic in Arcos - the place i pm'd you about :-) And just in case you find time in Cadiz, take a pic of Cervantes 3, where I stayed for a week. Better still, see if the descendants of Francisco Gomez Plana y Sanchez Cosio still reside there. Regards to the twin :-) you guys are looking good!
ReplyDeletetalavera???!!!
ReplyDeleteokay, this parallelism is really strange. Puebla, where I went with company, is famous for their ceramic crafts. an art that was introduced by Spain (who else?).
isn't having company lovely? =)
that we will never be alone, even when the company parts ways.
and reunions will be always in our horizons.
HUG. HUG. HUG.
we struggle through the rough times to find ourselves, once more, in adventures like these. =)
HUGS,
jemi
