PHOTOVANDALISM EXHIBIT OPENING

photo exhibit at the 4th Floor bridge way of SM
Megamall on January 13-19. The exhibit will showcase
25 pieces of Mr. Saño’s poster-size photographs,
particularly those which capture spectacular lightning
displays and the lights of the metropolis.
The photos will be accompanied by poems written by
writers and popular composers/songwriters such as
columnist and Palanca Hall of Fame and TOYM Awardee
Butch Dalisay, Gawad Urian Lifetime Achievement
Awardee Ricky Lee, Palanca and TOYM Awardee Vim
Nadera, Palanca awardee Luis Katigbak, multi-awarded
poet Mayo Uno Martin and promising young poet/
authorMarie La Viña, as well as vocalist/guitarists
Barbie Almalbis of Barbie’s Cradle and Noel Cabangon,
Parokya ni Edgar bassist Buwi Meneses,
vocalist/bassist Cynthia Alexander, Radioactive Sago
Project vocalist and Palanca Awardee Lourd de Veyra,
Philippines Yearbook managing editor and Pulp
associate editor Peach Abubakar (a.k.a. vocalist/
keyboardist Isha), Cambio, Twisted Halo and former
Eraserheads bassist Buddy Zabala, and Pan and former
Yano vocalist Dong Abay.
Some of these guest artists will recite/perform their
poems/songs at the opening of the exhibit on at 6 p.m.
on Thursday, January 13, among them: Noel Cabangon,
Isha, Lourd de Veyra, Coffee Break Island, Ugoy-Ugoy
vocalist Lynn Sherman and Vim Nadera.
A portion of the proceeds from the exhibit will
benefit the He Cares Foundation Streetchildren Caring
Center. Saño has been a volunteer of the foundation
since 2001. Saño is a graduate of the UP College of
Architecture and an active member of the International
Federation of Landscape Architects. He is a
photographer and a painter by avocation. He has been
photographing wildlife for expeditions of World
Wildlife Fund (WWF) all over the country for the past
five years, and is currently a contributing
photographer for Colors Philippines, Kalakbay Awardee
for Best Travel Publication (Domestic).
The event is presented by Smart and Radio Partners
Inc. (Jam 88.3, Wave 89.1, Magic 89.9, 99.5
RT and 103.5 K-Lite) in cooperation with Diliman
Republic.
